Tipsy
AvailableTipsy is an American Shorthair cat living in Charlotte, NC, with a classic brown tabby pattern and short coat. She’s a 13-year-old senior female, spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. Tipsy is fully house trained and prefers non-carpeted surfaces for her litter box. Despite age-related hearing loss, she adapts well and has a unique, spirited personality.
About Tipsy
Tipsy lost her person in February and has spent her first months with the rescue settling in with patience and a strong spirit. She’s a senior at 13 years old (originally thought to be just six), and likely almost or completely deaf, but her distinct, booming meow lets you know exactly what she needs. Tipsy isn’t interested in being carried around, but she adores chin scratches and will make it clear when she wants attention. Her purr can fill a room, and she seeks out cozy hideouts when she needs a break from the world. She’s tolerant of other pets in the home—she won’t pick fights, but she won’t become their best friend either. Tipsy’s comfortable with gentle affection from people, preferring her humans to other animals. She needs medication for her heart murmur and a few routine issues common in seniors, but she’s managed well so far. She’s house trained, though has a strong preference for non-carpeted surfaces when it comes to using the litter box, and moves with surprising speed if startled. If you need to move her in a carrier, be ready for some drama—she voices her opinions with gusto. Tipsy is looking for a home that will appreciate her quirks and respect her space as she enjoys her golden years. She was born under the Capricorn sun, so no surprise she’s determined and independent. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
