About Walter

Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Walter is seeking his forever home after coming to the shelter as a stray in February 2023. Born under the reliable and dedicated sign of Virgo, he weighs in at 66 lbs and quickly discovered that shelter and kennel life were not for him, as he disliked being confined and often expressed his disapproval by being vocal and mouthy with staff. Fortunately, in partnership with All Dog training, Walter has flourished! Now, he is a healthy, happy, and snuggly boy, especially when out of the shelter environment. While he still works on minor behavioral quirks, he shows plenty of promise as a wonderful pet. Walter enjoys playing but does not require much exercise, making him a great choice for many families. Walter would thrive as the only dog, though during his training he lived with a dog pack and does best with calm, altered companions. He’ll occasionally play with other dogs, but is typically content to coexist. He rarely sheds, and with his unique howl and bark, he likely has some hound in him. Walter is house trained and crate trained, though he prefers an open area designated just for him. During his stay at All Dog Obedience, he has mastered a variety of commands, including come, sit, down, leave it, quiet, and many more. Walter is truly a smart, quirky, and affectionate old soul who just hasn’t met his people yet. He would do best in a foster-to-adopt home where he can settle in slowly and ensure he’s the perfect fit for his future family. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
