She’s a gentle, sweet, and loving soul who becomes attached quickly once she’s comfortable. Volunteers say she’s smart and affectionate—a true companion who tunes in to the energy of the people around her. While she’ll start out shy with strangers, patience and calm encouragement help her open up fast. Momma Maia enjoys walks, yard play, games of fetch and tug, and she knows her way through a doggy door. She hops right into the car and rides well, especially if she knows fruit or treats are involved. Someone with prior Pit Bull experience is strongly preferred, as she’s strong, energetic, and needs continued work on basic commands and leash manners. She’d thrive with an active family who’s home most of the day, has older dog-savvy children (13+), and a secure fenced yard—she has a knack for finding a way out if left unattended. Momma Maia needs to be the only pet, as she does not get along with other dogs or cats and truly wants to be the queen of her castle. She’s spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and she’s ready for the next chapter with someone who can match her enthusiasm and patience.
