Meet Tempest! Tempest is a sweet 1-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart that’s learning to trust again. When she first arrived at the rescue, she was frightened and confused after coming from a stressful situation. With time, patience and lots of love, Tempest has started to decompress and is showing her sweet, affectionate side. Once Tempest gets to know you, she’ll greet you with excitement, cuddles and plenty of kisses! Until she warms up, she can be a little vocal and may bark at new people, but that’s just her way of saying she needs time to feel safe. She may require a few meet-and-greets before she feels completely comfortable. Tempest loves running around outside and enjoys playtime with her sister, Atari. She does resource guard her favorite people from other dogs, so she’d do best in a home that understands her need for boundaries. We don’t currently know how she does with cats or kids. Tempest does keep her kennel clean and walks well on a leash. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with love once she trusts you, Tempest is waiting for her forever home!
