Meet Squirrel! Siblings littermates of Wabbit. A total of 5 rescued barely 8 months old back in the spring of 2019 from a hoarding abuse neglect case. Making him now about 5 years old. Barely 26 pounds. He was the most fearful, skittish, feral-like of all. Squirrels have overcome mountains. His personality is sweet, and once within his circle, he is very confident. Less is more for Squirrel. Keeping things simple and functional with lots of nurturing affection and love food makes his world go round. He is a creature of habit, but when pushed to explore and try, he is always successful and happy. Squirrels love to lounge. He enjoys his home. Lives in his fenced-in yard. Sunbathing, running, and playing with other dogs. Very respectful of cats and all critters. His environment, his home, is his world. Although he is known to enjoy the occasional car ride and drive-thru cheeseburger and pup cup. He is a simple homebody dog. He is socially awkward and reserved. He minds his own. He thrives in comfort and keeping things simple with minimum change or too much excitement. A creature of habit. A dog dog. A homebody. Silently enjoying all watching from a distance. A squirrel is a pack dog. He needs other friendly, positive, balanced dogs in the home to follow and mimic. For companionship and comfort. Squirrel is a house and crate train. His recall and basic obedience are great, but it is a continued working process. He's motivated just needs to happen at his pace for comfort. An old comfortable soul with little layers. A fairly easy, simple dog who thrives with nurturing affection, taking life one day at a time. Simplicity comfort food treats nurturing and conversational. Companionship comfort. Squirrel is house and crate-trained. His leash manners continue to improve. His recall is reliable within a fenced area. All Adoptions Include: • Spayed/Neutered • Rabies Vaccination: 1 or 3 years. • All Age Appropriate Core Vaccinations Including Lepto & Corona. 1 or 3 years. • Heartworm tested Negative. •Receive monthly Heartworm, Flea, and Tick Prevention. • Lyme Disease Tested Negative. • Dewormed and Fecal tested Negative. • All testing completed within 6 -12 months. •All age-appropriate needs (blood work, dental, testing, and meds) • Lifetime Microchip Registration includes free unlimited updates. •Feed a quality protein diet Adoption Processing: •Adoption application review can take up to 3 weeks. • A minimum of 2 Meet & Greets are required before adopting. •A home check needs to take place. • Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. • We Do NOT ship any of our adoptable pets. • Adoption fees are paid at the time of adoption •No exchange or request for money is required before adoption. •No payment plans. AHRS Former Adopter: • No adoption fee is required; a donation of choice is expected, encouraged, welcome, and appreciated. Training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues and opportunities arise daily that have to be addressed and or rewarded. Continued training is a purity setting them up for success.
