About Coral
Click apply to start the adoption process. Coral's journey has been full of adventures β she was first seen running near a freeway, sporting a shiny new harness, but too scared to accept help and quick to disappear. As weeks passed, sightings and efforts to find her family came up empty, and when she finally returned, she was without her harness and even more fearful. Thanks to the kindness of strangers leaving food and eventually setting a humane trap, Coral was brought to safety. Despite diligent searching, no one ever came forward to claim her during her time at the shelter. What makes it all the more surprising is that Coral is still just a big puppy, about a year old, and clearly has known love in her past. Coral absolutely adores people, including children, and lights up any event with her enthusiasm. Sheβs a big, lanky girl who is always ready to greet kids, show off silly tricks, and spread joy with her expressive eyes and wrinkly brows. Given her size and youthful energy, she would benefit from continued guidance to refine her skills, especially with leash manners. Coral is a quick learner, very food-motivated, and volunteers have taught her fun tricks like Sit, Down, Shake, High Five, Wave, Roll Over, and Leave it β all of which she performs at lightning speed! As an important note, Coral is considered a flight risk due to her previous experiences. She cannot be left unattended in a yard, and crate training is essential when you are away. Her new family must be cautious with doors and windows, and leash walks must be secure with a tight grip every time. For her safety, she should never be off-leash in unfenced areas. Fun fact: Coral was born on June 13, which makes her a Gemini β Geminis are known for their playful and curious nature! Make their next chapter their best one yet.
