About Fred
Fred has spent nearly a year at A New Dawn, and it's clear he could use a miracle. He and his brother have held onto fear, but the rescue team truly believes a quiet, safe foster or forever home could turn things around for him. Fred is a small Beagle with a short coat who’s house trained, vaccinated, and neutered. Despite being labeled special needs, much of what he requires is patience and understanding—a place where he can finally exhale. He isn’t a match for homes with children, so adults looking for a project or those familiar with shy, quirky dogs might be a good fit. If given a gentle space to decompress, Fred has real potential and might surprise you. Every animal has that turning point—Fred just needs someone who will wait for his. Give him the best chapter yet. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!

Questions about Fred
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Beagles like Fred are generally happiest in a home with enough activity to engage them but not too overwhelming, especially for a shy dog like him. A relaxed, consistent routine with gentle owners would be ideal.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
As a Beagle, Fred appreciates daily walks and some outdoor sniff time, but he doesn’t require a huge yard. Secure, safe outside spaces help him feel comfortable and burn off energy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Beagles are often family dogs, but Fred is not suited for homes with children due to his shyness and special needs. He would be better in an adult-only household.
