About Josie

Meet the delightful Josie, a 7-year-old Mini Australian Shepherd weighing in at a cuddly 35 pounds! 🐾 This beautiful girl is on a journey to find that perfect, serene home where she can thrive in comfort and peace. Her owners have cherished her since she was just a pup, and rehoming their beloved companion is a heartfelt decision they've made with immense love and care. ❤️ Josie is a loyal and affectionate soul, deeply in tune with the emotions of those around her. She just wants to be near you—whether that's resting while you're working, exploring the yard during your gardening escapades, or snuggled up at your feet as you binge-watch the latest show on Netflix. 📺💕 She embodies the spirit of companionship, and all she needs is a calm and stable environment to truly flourish. Now, don’t worry about needing to run marathons with her. Josie is a low-key lady who enjoys her walks and has a history of agility training. While she adores playtime with her toys and will keep you entertained with her antics, she doesn’t require excessive exercise. 🏃‍♀️🎾 This smart girl is eager to please, making her training sessions a joy for everyone involved! However, let’s be mindful of this sensitive girl—Josie hasn’t lived with cats or other dogs, so she may prefer being the star of the show as the only fur baby in her forever home. Additionally, due to her past experiences, she isn’t suited for homes with young children. With a little one entering her current family, the environment has become a bit too hectic for her liking. She may need a cozy spot away from the action during visits, but you’ll find that she’s more than flexible with a little bit of management. 😊 Josie has a couple of important health needs that her future family should be aware of: • She was diagnosed with IMHA (Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia) last year, but guess what? She’s in full remission and just needs regular vet check-ups. 🌟 • She has a displaced ureter—but don’t worry, it’s well-managed with medication. • Josie also has IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), and she’s thriving on Voyager Sensitive Stomach kibble and a low-dose Prednisone regimen. 🥗 Continuing her current food and medication schedule is crucial, and routine vet visits every 1-2 years will keep this lovely lady feeling her best! Although her needs may seem daunting, she’s a stable and happy pup when her routine is consistent. 🌈 If you believe you can provide Josie with the nurturing, quiet abode she deserves, be ready to make a commitment to your new furry friend. She’s located in Olympia, WA, and you must apply to adopt Josie through the Buddy App. ✨ ❤️ Remember, meet and greets only happen after a completed application that includes a home visit and reference checks—because Josie’s well-being is our top priority! Let’s give this lovely girl the forever home she’s been dreaming of! 💖
