Introducing the beautiful Wilbur! 🌟 Found as a stray on January 29th, this sweet soul has been through quite the journey. The loving hearts at our rescue immediately gave him a gentle bath and took him to the vet, where they uncovered a long list of medical issues. Talk about a dramatic backstory! 📜 This brave boy has a Grade 5 heart murmur and is battling heartworm disease along with an enlarged heart. On top of that, he’s dealing with a severe hookworm infestation, anemia (caused by those pesky hookworms), and a high white blood cell count due to infections. Poor Wilbur also has yeast and fungal skin infections all over, along with multiple infected wounds, including a little hole on his right front leg. And let's not forget about his double ear infections and pneumonia! 😷 Despite all of this, Wilbur is hanging in there like the true fighter he is—stable and full of spirit! He's currently on a regimen of medications and enjoys four small nutritional meals a day. Wrapped up in cozy PJs and sweatshirts, he’s learning to trust again and is taking it one day at a time. However, this kind of neglect doesn’t happen overnight; it’s clear he’s been suffering for a long time. ❤️🕰 As of February 2026, the courageous Wilbur is not yet ready for evaluation or adoption. He is currently decompressing and recovering in the comfortable care of a medical foster.
