About Chief
✨ Meet Chief, the gentle giant with a heart as big as his 107-pound frame! This big fella's journey began a little rough, as he was unceremoniously dumped in a North Carolina shelter parking lot. Can you believe it? He was left there despite clear signs that the intake was closed for 30 days due to a respiratory outbreak! Fortunately, our dear Chief dodged the bullet, staying healthy and safe until he made his way to rescue once the quarantine ended. 🙌 Now let’s talk about his personality! Chief adores his toys and has mastered the art of cuddling on the couch. He’s the type of dog that believes he’s a lap dog—who needs personal space, right? 🤣 He’s patient, taking treats gently, and watches like a hawk as meals are served. Walk him on a leash? Well, let’s just say he’s got a bit of muscle, but once you’re in sync, it’s a great experience! 🎾 Chief is quite the brilliant pup too—he knows commands like 'sit' and 'wait'! However, families with little kiddos might want to reconsider; he doesn’t quite get how big he is and can be a bit exuberant when he gets excited. Grooming time is like a spa day for him; he loves a good pampering session and is a pro at bath time. 🛁 He currently does well with female dogs in his foster home, but we’re unsure how he’ll behave with male canines since he hasn’t met any yet. Plus, he’s already neutered, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines. Chief is estimated to be around 1.5 to 2 years old, living it up in Floyd, Virginia. 😍 For adoption, Chief needs a home where he can thrive, and while adoptions are limited to North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and a 6-hour radius around Raleigh, if you think this gentle giant is for you, don't hesitate! Harness your inner Chief and apply to adopt him through the Buddy App today! Let’s give this sweet boy the forever home he truly deserves! 💖
