🌟 Meet the adorable Rowan! This sweet boy is one of 15 dogs who entered the shelter in early August due to a neglect case. When Rowan first arrived, he was sadly starved and under-socialized. But, with the unwavering love and care from the staff and volunteers at CMHS, he’s blossoming and learning to trust people once again. Eating three square meals a day definitely helps! 🍽️ Rowan is incredibly food-motivated, and he'll happily sit for a yummy treat. 🎉 As he’s been going on day trips with his amazing volunteers, he’s starting to see the world and make new friends! His foster shares that Rowan was initially a bit skittish, always on alert and curiously cautious of new noises. But fear not, because within just a few hours, he settled in and showed his true colors! This darling loves attention, belly rubs, and warms up quickly to new pals. 💖 While Rowan isn't quite interested in toys or balls just yet, he’s perfectly content to snuggle close to his humans, soaking up all the love, pets, and treats he can get. He absolutely enjoys rolling in the grass like a happy puppy! 🌱 And here’s a little more good news – no accidents in the house! He’s proving to be a quick learner, picking up commands like sit and lay down, and he’s doing remarkably well on his leash walks. 🚶‍♂️ However, Rowan is currently being treated for a skin infection, and ongoing monitoring will be required with his future adopter's veterinarian. This could involve further diagnostics and treatment, as underlying environmental or food allergies might be in play. He also has some severe dental wear, especially on his front incisors, and will need a dental procedure with the adopter's veterinarian if it hasn't already been completed while in shelter care. 🦷 Rowan is a sweet, gentle soul who is waiting for the right person or family to welcome him into their home.
