🌟Introducing Mable, a beautiful mix of Shar-Pei or Chow and Beagle! Can you imagine a 3-month-old puppy living life on a chain? It's a heartbreaking concept, but that was her reality until late winter of 2022, when she came to our rescue. Mable spent over a year outside, and she has faced more challenges than most of us could imagine. The poor girl was alone and isolated, trying to learn what it means to be a beloved pet. 💔 After her dark past, Mable was adopted and then sadly surrendered back to the shelter because her previous family felt she wouldn’t potty train properly. Can you believe that? They even described her as “aggressive” when, in reality, she was just scared and overwhelmed. Upon her return, Mable showed many fearful behaviors, but with care, it became clear that she just needed love and time to heal. Mable also had to undergo seven surgeries for her cherry eye and other issues, but don’t worry—her sparkle is shining through! ✨ By the seventh surgery, she had undergone a transformation, gaining the ability to see and an adorable new look! Here’s where it gets even more inspiring! Mable is a dog capable of immense love once she feels safe. Months of working on exposure to new humans and integrating her into the larger dog community at the Sanctuary have helped her blossom! 🎉 At first a little cautious, Mable’s quirky side reveals a playful spirit that’s just waiting to shine! Just picture her joyous face as she discovers the simple joy of toys and other dogs. She walks beautifully on a leash, and while her recall is fantastic, for her safety, a fenced yard is preferred. Apartment living can work too—just make sure she gets her daily exercise! 💪 Another important thing to know about Mable is that she thrives best in a home with other dogs, as she needs that social pack element. She might be a couch potato at heart, but with the right exercise and mental stimulation, she’ll be the happiest little companion ever!
