🌟 Meet Harriet, a truly remarkable girl with a heart of gold! This sweet darling has been on quite the journey. Imagine running for over three weeks around Tampa, from the cemetery on MLK, across 10 miles to Seminole Heights, and then to Forest Hills—that's some serious adventure! With love and determination from the community, Harriet was finally caught by our rescue using a net, and she’s ready for a life filled with safety and companionship. 🥰 Initially, Harriet was understandably cautious; her experiences led her to be a bit fearful and to lunge or even try to bite out of fear. But once she realized she was safe, she transformed into the biggest cuddle bug you could ever wish for! 💖 She thrives on the love of her foster mom—showing how much she can attach to someone special. While she’s slowly warming up to other people, she does prefer the familiar warmth of her foster mom's presence. Harriet is looking for a very dog-savvy adopter, someone who understands her anxiety and can provide the gentle, supportive environment she needs. Ideally, she would do best in a home where someone is always around, as she can get quite anxious, sometimes leading her to unleash her inner home decorator—if you catch my drift! 🐾 Her crate is her safe haven when unsupervised, and she does very well inside it. This lovely girl does require some specific living situations—NO off-leash adventures or left alone in the backyard. She flourishes best in an adult-only home without children. Harriet does enjoy the company of other calm dogs and is fond of cats. While men might give her a little fright at first, with some patience, she can warm up to them. She absolutely thrives in a predominantly female environment and would adore a home with someone who enjoys staying in. With cherry eyes in both peepers, we’re actively seeking veterinary options to help her out.
