🌟 Meet the incredible Huey! 🌟 This brave little soul entered Chi Town Rescue in the summer of 2024, having been discovered with four other frightened dogs abandoned in a kennel late at night – talk about a tough start! While all of his canine companions were scared, Huey was particularly shy around humans. But there’s so much more to this lovable guy! After being rescued, Huey was taken into a warm, caring foster home where he initially felt safe enough to bloom. But, oh, plot twist! Huey recently found himself back at the rescue, brought in by his previous family. Why, you ask? Because this little furball had some specific likes and dislikes, especially when it came to sharing his favorite human (yep, it's a classic case of love!) with the household’s larger dogs. 🚨 So let’s break it down, shall we? Huey will absolutely steal your heart, as he fiercely bonds with the people he cares about, becoming their devoted sidekick! He adores cozy lap time and will happily follow you around, always on the hunt for snuggles and pets from those he trusts. However, if he doesn’t quite vibe with you, prepare for some spirited barks and a bit of avoidance. 😅 Now, here’s where it gets important: Huey does have some resource guarding tendencies. He may bark and growl at others, especially if they get too close to his beloved human. 🙈 Because of this, he needs a dedicated adult-only home filled with understanding hearts and experienced hands willing to work with him on his guarding behavior. But there’s hope! He tends to befriend small dogs as long as they respect his special human time, although bigger dogs can get him barking.
