About Mama & Lola
Their story began with the warmth of love but took a twist that could make anyone tear up. Meet the beautiful duo: Mama, a vibrant 6-year-old queen, and her adorable daughter, Lola, who is turning 5! Their beloved owner, in her 90s, sadly passed away, leaving these lovely ladies in a tough spot. But don’t worry! A kind-hearted Good Samaritan swooped in to give them hope instead of the unthinkable. After 13 rescues turned them away, Must Love Cats Rescue finally opened their hearts and arms wide to Mama and Lola. Mama is a bundle of joy ready to make up for lost time! For years, this playful girl’s only “toy” was a sock, can you believe it? Now, she's discovering the world of real cat toys, and let’s just say, she has a blast with her teaser! As you can see in the video, she’s living her best life, soaking in all the love and snuggles she deserves! Now Lola, the little sweetheart, has had a different ride. She wasn’t socialized much and is understandably cautious around people, which makes sense, right? But within her foster home, she’s slowly opening up and learning to trust again. Her gentle spirit truly shines through, making everyone want to gather around and cheer her on! When they first arrived at Must Love Cats, both girls were in rough shape, but don’t fret! After a little TLC, they’re now on the mend. Poor Lola had an eye infection, and they both had some sores that needed some serious attention. Now, they absolutely love being brushed and pampered! Here’s a little heads-up: Mama is FIV+, but don’t let that scare you! Cats with FIV can live long, happy lives and usually don’t pass it along through casual contact. They both share a deep bond, and it’s heartwarming to see them find comfort in each other. Because of this connection, we’re seeking a special and patient family who can open their hearts to both of these deserving girls. They aren’t mean-spirited – they just need a little extra love and understanding to build their confidence. They’ve been quite wonderful with the teenage children in their foster family, which shows they have the potential to be great family members. But here’s the catch: given their journey, young children might overwhelm them, so teens are the way to go for now! While they thrive together, we recommend patience if you have other cats in the house. They’d do best with calm feline siblings who are nurturing and gentle as they gain their confidence. So, if a peaceful and loving home sounds like the right place for Mama and Lola to continue their healing journey and transform into the affectionate cats they were meant to be, why not consider giving them a chance? Remember, Mama and Lola are waiting for a forever home where they can flourish.
