The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a compact, muscular dog standing 14 to 16 inches tall and weighing roughly 24 to 38 pounds, with a short, smooth coat in red, fawn, white, black, blue or brindle, often with white. The breed developed from bulldog and terrier crosses in nineteenth-century England and is now best known as a family companion.
In Garland, that short coat needs little more than weekly brushing, but a Staffy's strength and stubborn streak call for early leash manners and steady, reward-based training. Many are affectionate and love children, though some are intolerant of unfamiliar dogs, so introductions matter. Each dog differs, and a Staffy's own history and personality count for more than any breed description.
