The Aussiedoodle is a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, so there's no breed standard and dogs vary widely. Size follows the Poodle parent, from toys under 15 pounds to standards near 70, and coats range from wavy to tightly curled in colors that include the Aussie's merle patterns. Shedding is usually light to moderate, but it isn't guaranteed.
Both parent breeds were working dogs, and most Aussiedoodles inherit that drive. In Omaha, expect a dog that wants daily outings and a task, and one that may follow you from room to room. Grooming is part of the routine: a professional trim every six to eight weeks and regular brushing keep mats away, especially through wet springs and snowy winters.
