Temperament
Shepherd types are often devoted, attentive and eager to learn, and many respond well to reward-based training. Some are watchful with strangers, which matters on New Castle's close-set sidewalks, so early socialization helps. Herding instincts can show up as nipping or chasing bikes, children and cats. Each dog's history counts for more than the label.
