The Canadian Hairless is the Sphynx under an older name, a Toronto-born cat with a wrinkled, suede-like body, big ears and lemon-shaped eyes. Many wear a faint peach fuzz rather than being completely bare, and skin color shows whatever coat color the cat would have carried. Most are medium-sized, roughly 6 to 12 pounds, with a sturdy build and a rounded belly.
Without fur, the skin does the work a coat normally would. Oils build up, so regular baths and ear cleaning matter, and warmth and sun protection are part of daily life. In Las Vegas that mostly means a cooled home, washable bedding and a sunny but filtered perch. Cats vary, but many are sociable and busy, and most do best when someone is around.
