Applehead Siamese is the popular name for the traditional, old-style Siamese, a sturdier, rounder-headed cat than the long, wedge-headed Siamese of today's show rings. It looks much like the cats that reached the West from Thailand in the late nineteenth century, and some registries now recognize the type separately as the Thai. Many cats called appleheads are simply pointed cats of Siamese ancestry.
Expect a pale body with darker points and vivid blue eyes, a short coat that's easy to keep up, and a big personality. Many are talkative, playful and clever, and they often dislike long stretches alone. In Albuquerque, that mix suits people who work from home or keep a flexible schedule, and a cat that gets daily play usually settles well in an apartment or a house.
