Applehead Siamese is the nickname for the traditional Siamese, a sturdier, rounder-headed cat that looks much like the pointed cats of Thailand did when they first reached the West in the late 1800s. Some registries now recognize the type separately as the Thai, while many cats called appleheads are simply pointed cats of Siamese ancestry. The pale body, darker points and vivid blue eyes make them easy to spot.
Personality is the real draw. Many are talkative, clever and devoted, and they often dislike long stretches alone, which matters if your days away from home run long. The short, close-lying coat needs little care and suits Honolulu's warm weather. Cats vary, so spend time with a cat before deciding rather than assuming looks predict behavior.
