About Jangle

Jangle may be a misunderstood boy but becasue he is, he has found his way back to us. Please read about the experiences below and decide for yourself whether he might be a better fit for you. From his second foster: This sweet, handsome boy is a gentle calm soul. He may greet you with a little hiss when you first enter the room because he is still adjusting to this new life (not living in the rainwater drainage system at Bojangles) but he loves to cuddle, receive kisses, and belly rubs, just as much as he enjoys quiet time and relaxing on a comfy chair. His favorite toy is the fishing rod where he loves to show his athletic ability. If you are looking for a quiet calm companion, Jangle is your guy! From his trapper and first foster: Jangle was pretty shy the first days after being trapped at a Bojangles, with his 3 siblings. He took a little longer to figure out he was safe once we got home, and he is a little nervous in new places but he is very sweet. Once he feels safe, he wants to lay on your lap or right beside you; he wants to give you head bumps to show his affection; and he purrs and doesn't want you to stop lovin' on him. In his foster home, when he got a chance to be out of quarantine, he didn't seem too concerned about the calm dog or the other cats in the home, none of whom paid him much attention. He would probably love to have another equally matched kitty playmate though once he settles into his new home.Experience reported by his adopter of 2 months who has returned him to us: He was good with the resident cat for the first couple weeks but then started stalking and attacking her, fur would fly. He apparently decided she was not a friend. The slow introduction phase only lasted a few days and just may not have been extended enough for him to appropriately get used to his new roommate but it is hard to say because adopter said it was going okay at first. Adopter may have incorrectly assumed the occassional rough play was just that...play...and then it escalated a couple weeks into the adoption. Adopter also said Jangle would randomly reach out at her (when she was passing by) and latching onto her. . This sounds like redirection over his dislike for the resident cat. From this, we assume he may need to be an only cat as we did not experience this behavior with him at all during his time in either of his foster homes. Meet Jangle and see if he might be a better first for you by completing our online adoption application. All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
