About Trace

Trace (A567592) is an Australian Cattle Dog who arrived as a stray and has had no luck finding his former family. He has been waiting long enough, so he is now officially available for adoption. Trace is a classic cattle dog through and through, which means he likes to pick his people and prefers a small, trusted circle. This is not your average pet. Cattle dogs are incredibly smart, incredibly loyal and sometimes a little stubborn when they are figuring out who they can trust. Trace needs an adopter who understands the breed and appreciates their quirks instead of trying to change them. He is timid on a leash and will need someone patient enough to help him build confidence and understand that the world is not as overwhelming as it feels right now. He has not been officially tested with other dogs yet because he is still processing everything. When you look at him, you can tell he is trying his best to be brave in a place that feels loud and unpredictable to a dog like him. Trace is not a dog for everyone, but he will be everything to the right person who meets him where he is. Trace is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 47 pounds. All animals adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, spayed/neutered and given a 30 day flea/tick preventative. Ready to meet Trace? Stop by 4950 Triana Blvd SW in Huntsville, Alabama. No appointment is necessary to meet our available animals. All adopters must be 19 years or older and be able to provide a valid ID.
