Meet Oreo! This sweet cookie is ready to find his next home! He is a lovable boy who enjoys his peace in the home. He loves to be your shadow and follow you everywhere you go, and loves to take a good cat nap. He has lived with kids in the past, and loves some quality family time. He loves wand toys, and when he wants some attention he will let you know! He can be a vocal boy who will meet you at the door for pets. He may be a little shy while adjusting into a new home, but a little time and patience goes a long way for this sweet boy! He takes his time greeting new people in the home, but don't take it personally, sometimes he is just a shy boy! If you are looking for an Oreo to go with your milk, he is the guy for you! The cat you are adopting is very shy. Patience and a gentle approach will be necessary to form a bond and help this cat feel that they are safe in their new environment. This means that the cat is likely to not want to interact with you at first and will need time to settle in and relax. It is likely to take weeks to months for this cat to become comfortable in your home. Even once settled, they may always be a shy cat who runs from visitors. In order to have the best chance at creating a lasting bond with your new cat, you must go at their pace. When you get home, this cat should be set up in one room of your home, with a door that will stay shut while the cat adjusts. They should be offered a variety of foods and plenty of appropriate hiding places to help them feel safe during this transition. The cat should not be let out of their room until they seem like they are making progress and seem to want to explore more of the house. Ready To Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You'll be able to meet available cats in the shelter.
