Watson is a 6yearold pit bull terrier with a calm, gentle personality. He's the kind of dog who's happy to hang out nearby, nap in a sunny spot, or follow you around the house just to be part of things. He's playful when invited, but overall he has an easygoing, steady temperament. He's fully housetrained and cratetrained, and he knows several commands: sit, down, up, come, shake/paw, outside, and "go to bed." He's been very reliable when left alone in the house. Watson has lived with a cat for about two years. He mostly ignores the cat unless it starts running, and then he'll try to chase in a playful way. He's also been around other dogs at dog parks. He's curious and friendly, and he tends to be submissive around larger dogs. He currently lives in a home with a toddler. We keep some distance just because of our son's age, but Watson has been calm and patient. His main interest during mealtimes is waiting for dropped snacks. His daily routine is simple: he eats and goes out around 7 a.m., spends some time outside if the weather is good, and then goes out again around lunch. In the afternoon he either gets another break outside, a short walk, or a trip to the dog park. He's used to having someone home most days, as he spends a lot of time near me while I work. Watson isn't picky about treats, though he's not a fan of the white rawhide bones. He's a good dog who will do well in a home that appreciates a calm companion with a playful side. He doesn't need constant activity, just a steady routine and people who enjoy having him nearby.
