Hello, my name is Condesa, and I am a girl with a story written deep in my eyes. People say you can see my soul when you look at me, and I think that is because I have lived a life that taught me what love truly means. I was found in Mexico with my puppies during a spay and neuter program for stray dogs. We were filthy and starving, and things were very hard. The clinic team brought us in, cleaned us up, and cared for us with kindness. Only one of my puppies survived, and while my heart carries that loss, it also carries incredible strength. When it was time for me to be released back onto the streets, something special happened. I did not run away. I stayed close to the volunteers, and that night I followed one of them home. I did not want to be a street dog anymore. I wanted a family. I wanted to belong. They listened to my heart and kept me safe, boarding me in Mexico until my name was chosen for a long van ride all the way to Minnesota. Soon after arriving to MN, my foster family noticed something wasn't quite right and took me into the vet, where I was diagnosed with TVT, a form of cancer. I'm a survivor though, and we quickly began my chemotherapy treatments. Now I have undergone all my treatments, and have officially been declared cancer free! It will not come back. Finally, after so many journeys, I am healthy, and I am ready for my own forever family. Once I settle in, my true self comes shining through. My smile breaks out, and I turn into the sweetest, cutest girl you will ever meet. I melt into cuddles and soak up every gentle touch like it is something precious. I love other dogs and adore playing with them. When I am happy, I get bouncy and joyful, complete with my own version of zoomies. I even use my voice with my dog siblings to let them know exactly how I am feeling. Cats, however, still make me a bit unsure.
