Meet William Charles, a handsome young gentleman with a name fit for a crown and a story that began on the streets. He first appeared in his foster mom’s neighborhood, meowing for attention and food. One rainy night, she could not bear the thought of him being alone outside in the weather, so she invited him in for a meal and a warm bed. After he was scanned for a microchip and none was found, she set out to give him the safe future he deserved. As a KD foster parent, she asked if Kitty Devore Rescue would accept him into our foster care program, and we did. Once William Charles was officially in our care, we got him to our vet to ensure he was healthy, neutered, tested for FeLV and FIV, vaccinated, and microchipped. William Charles is every bit as regal as his royal name suggests. He is sweet, gentle, affectionate, playful, and full of the charming, puppy-like personality that Maine Coon mixes are so loved for. He seeks out attention, enjoys cuddles, and makes an excellent sleeping companion and television-watching sidekick. He is a polite little guy most of the time, though he may forget his manners around your dinner plate and put in a hopeful request. Estimated to be about two years old at the time of his rescue in April 2026, William may still have a little filling out to do, but he already sports a classic ruff, floofy tail, and distinguished ear and toe tufts. William Charles would thrive in a loving home where he would be cherished as both companion and family member. He does well with respectful children and kind kitties, and while he has not been tested with dogs, his easygoing nature suggests a gentle, cat-friendly dog may be acceptable.
